We try to achieve this by providing Personal Assistants, rather than Carers, who will assist our Clients to do whatever they wish but which they could not do without that assistance [ as long as it is safe and legal!]. We do not discriminate in the areas of race, creed, impairment, or sexuality and we expect our Clients and staff to adhere to this policy. We believe everyone should be given a choice about who works with them. BILA believes in Client choice – we like our staff to be interviewed by Clients before being accepted for a particular job, that way both parties feel more at ease from day one. We believe it is important to understand the needs of Clients and staff. Our Clients like to retain staff for long periods of time, therefore it is essential to take the life of the staff member outside work into account when deciding on what shifts they should work.
